I agree with Ratgirl's assessment of Redd Kross as a great band. 
Their album Neurotica is an overlooked gem from the 80s and 
anyone interested in rock should check it out.

hey you crazy cats and kittens...oops! Sorry Ratgirls, didn't 
mean to scare you.  Sorry i haven't been adding my own spice of 
insanity to the No Shame gumbo lately, but i've been pretty busy 
writing more full length things.  Don't worry though, i've got a 
few shorter ideas stirring in the ol noggin to unleash upon this 
unsuspecting world when the time is right.  Okay, shameless plug 
time...

Well Hung Jury is having a pair of kick ass shows this weekend, 
Friday and Saturday night at 11 at the Hideout, including a 
return to the highly popular avant garde format and some good ol 
down home regular longform. No frills, no Bills (he's in 
Dallas), but plenty of thrills to rock you boys and girls 
worlds. Also, our Friday avant garde show will be, as Bill likes 
to put it, our "extreme benefit show." Profits will go to a 
worthy charity to be determined by a round robin arm wrestling 
contest...or the Red Cross, by default, if none of the other 
charities show up. So if you want to help out live theatre and 
know that your money is going to a great cause, c'mon and check 
out the avant garde show. We create comedy and acts of random 
beauty to kick terror's ass.

The following week (Tuesday through Saturday) features a return 
to our wildly successful Week in Weird Places as we show you, 
the audience, the potential of theatricality in locales you 
never thought of.  The places are weirder, the formats are more 
conceptual, the weather's a little cooler (so bring a jacket), 
but it's still a week long, it's still Austin, Texas and it's 
still YOUR Well Hung Jury! BE THERE!!!

Also, if you're surfing the net and give a damn, fellow No 
Shamer and earth elemental Mike D'alonzo has written up a 
fantastic article on the WHJ for the Spotlights section of 
Yesand.com, and i have a new editorial column which just 
launched last week at xmenunlimited.com....and coming next 
month, a no holds barred cage match between Mike and myself to 
determine once and for all who IS the greatest internet writer 
of them all!  I will not leave the squared circle until my rough 
draft has scoured the flesh from your bones, Mike D'Alonzo! Get 
ready for the paaaaaaain!

That's right, folks!  The one and only Stoogie, last seen in 
WHJ's "Ratgirl Expose" can be seen strutting her stuff in a 
play!  And you guys just thought Stoogie was a stuffy ol' 
librarian.  The play is Shopping and Fucking by Mark Ravenhill 
and it runs this Friday through November 3, Thurs. through Sun.

So I went to the Vortex web page, and saw the photo from the 
show. I'm continually amazed by how different Ratgirl and Stoogie 
look. I guess I shouldn't be, considering that they are two 
different people, but still.

Based on my knowledge of fluffing, there will be erect penises in 
this show, yes? Or is this just an added perc for the other 
actors, some kind of new Actors Equity thingy? I'm intrigued also 
about the logistics of the show, what with Stoogie appearing in 
it and Ratgirl fluffing backstage.

Will Ratgirl be appearing at the next No Shame in said latex?

Hey gang,

I've been thinking about this for a while, and after a lot of 
soul-searching and discussion with some of you, I've decided to 
let No Shame take a nap for a little while. I've arrived at this 
decision for a variety of reasons_the fact that we've cancelled 
the last two shows for lack of performers, the vicissitudes of 
home-ownership and full-time employment, and the fact that my 
schedule is really weird for the remainder of the year_and not 
because of any one particular aspect about No Shame here in 
Austin. Certainly not because any of you, who have been 
wonderful and supportive of me, the format, and of one another_
all the great stuff No Shame is supposed to foster.

So, what does this mean from a practical point of view? The next 
show, on Saturday, November 3, will be the last No Shame of 
2001. After the New Year, I'm hoping to have rechanneled some 
energy and that No Shame will return in some guise. Let's make 
this last show of the year a real blast. I hope all of you can 
bring your greatest, funniest, weirdest, most shameless pieces 
possible as we sing No Shame a sweet but raucous lullaby for the 
remainder of the very strange year that has been 2001. And if 
you don't have any material, hey come out anyway and have a 
grand ol' time.
