Well, my Cal Ripken-like streak of consecutive No Shames will come to an end this Friday... damnit. I think I'm the only person to be at every CF no shame.

Oh well.

1. Symphony of the Road--by Jesse Wozniak
I'm glad people laughed at this. I didn't think people would liek it, but they did. Good.

2. The Cussing Tree--by Jeff Lenhart
Genius as usual. I've run out of ways to describe this man's amazing ability

3. Hold Me Close--by Keith Baedke
It was a song. I don't remember too much else

4. Five Minutes of Pure Hell--by Q
I think this was your best work yet, Q. Keep it up.

5. The Office--by Nate Nelson
It was great to see new faces with a great new play. I laughed heartily

6. Granny Introduction Scene, Stage Version--
Tim, you are just a genius. Keep writing and keep coming

7. Reflective Song--by Pete Feltman
I liked this except for the potty mouth. Swearing has no place in No Shame

8. Two Ridiculous Moments of Elysia--by Elysia Hansel
The tracheotomy (which I'm pretty sure I just spelled wrong) thing made me laugh my arse off. It was great.

9. Open Senectady, Stupid Poem--by Katie Frederick-Schector Katie, I bow to your poetiness, if that's a word. You are simply the greatest and the first poem was my favorite of yours ever. You are my hero!

10. Petra Pan--by Sarah Zwick-Tapley
Again, another new face with an excellent, excellent piece. This has been a really, really good year for new people. I hope this trend keeps up.

11. I'm Well Aware of the Color of My Skin--by Jesse Wozniak
I'm just a cracker

12. A Roman Patrician's Vagina--by Neil Van Gorder
Neil this was again genius. I laughed really hard, I don't know why everybody else wasn't laughing as much.

13. It's Winter Outside--by Luke Pingel
This is one of the best pieces I've ever seen. Wow. Totally best of material. I can't get over this one, it was simple exquisite (I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong, also)
This was me laughing at this great No Shame

1. Symphony of the Road--by Jesse Wozniak

I was in this. It was fun and weird. It was a good opener.
Kind of Phillip Glassy.

2. The Cussing Tree--by Jeff Lenhart

I was in this too. The only bummer was that the tent was being a jackass, however it would have not been as cool to set it up beforehand. God...theyre all pearls with you Jeff. Cant you write a dud at least one time to make the rest of us feel better?

3. Hold Me Close--by Keith Baedke

One good thing is that I can hear the lyrics really well over the guitar. To me, it still seemed like a happy song in a way even though it was about his bad week.

4. Five Minutes of Pure Hell--by Q

I actually thought the Iago Gonzales intro was the best part. By the way, what is the form of the Hai-Q? Was I hearing 5-5-5? As opposed to 5-7-5? Sorry for being a poetry snob. I would personally love to Iago and the catfish crusaders keep reoccurring. I dont think I'll get sick of that for awhile.

5. The Office--by Nate Nelson

Great debut. And nice casting. Derek Easton just cracks me up just for being Derek, and Joe, who I met at Goodrich's was really funny too. Good stuff.

6. Granny Introduction Scene, Stage Version--by Tim Piper

I was glad for the explanation that it was just part of a longer work, because it wasn't the sort of pacing generally associated with NST. Are we going to see more scenes in the future? It seems like a fun script, though it might be hard for audiences to piece together the scenes with gap that goes on between shows. It had a lot of nice moments.

7. Reflective Song--by Pete Feltman

Im glad Pete is doing stuff now that isn't on his CD. This song was great because it was so freshly experienced than some of the things Pete's had sitting around for awhile. Plus he said the F-word.

8. Two Ridiculous Moments of Elysia--by Elysia Hansel

Very simple. It didn't look for anything more than two laughs, and that was refreshing.

9.Open Senectady, Stupid Poem--by Katie F-S

Or was the last one Crazy Stupid? I didn't remember exactly what you changed the title to, so I just used the one you gave me.

10. Petra Pan--by Sarah Z-T

Holy @#%$, this was so funny. Is it true that shes done professional stand-up? That doesn't surprise me. Absolutely amazing performance. I hope you had fun. Please, PLEASE come back.

11. I'm Well Aware of the Color of My Skin--by Jesse Wozniak

When Neil read the order, I definitely heard an "Uh-oh" from someone after this title. I really think you're becoming a fine rap-poet. No need to apologize before you perform.

12. A Roman Patrician's Vagina--by Neil Van Gorder

The second time Neil has written his piece through the show, and its paid off both times. I dont know many who would be willing to take up this challenge, but maybe we should come up with some sort of prize for it.

Great show, everyone! Only one more show before we announce the order for BONS, so give us some input. PLEASE!! Its going to be a very hard process going through the orders, so whatever you want to see one more time, let us know.

The show, you know
So much fun, as always. I missed seeing Goodrich, although I had the great opportunity to attend his party afterwards. It was so much fun. I even got to meet people from The Last Night of Ballyhoo, like Shana, who was so funny and entertaining in the show. I met a million people, and I even stayed past my bedtime, which is 1:14AM, CENTRAL TIME. The registration for this site took me only 10 minutes. Yes, I must admit, I had to wade through a few confusing screens, but I like to believe I can handle that sort of thing. Must go, just bought Castaway on DVD. I enjoy it because it reminds me of summer. As does Twister, and scene 7 from Boogie Nights--the pool scene.

From: NoShTh@aol.com
Time: Wed, 13-Mar-2002 08:54:29 GMT IP: 172.163.131.62

Althought I think we might have been able to work around
some of the problems with the new boards, I have not
figured out a way around the profanity filters, and as you
probably know, adult language is frequently relevant and
appropriate to discussions of No Shame. So for the time
being the new boards are being abandoned, and we will
resort to the old boards until such time as a suitable
replacement can be set up.

Rest assured we are, in fact, working feverishly on such a
replacement even as we speak, and hopefully it will be up
soon.

In the meantime, please note the following temporary
change in message board policy:

Any posts to these boards which are abusive, fraudulent,
libelous, spamulous or otherwise harmful, will be deleted
without comment.

In addition, any posts which do not contain a *valid email
address* and appear to be frivolous, misleading, irrelevant
or otherwise uninformative, will also be arbitrarily edited.

As always, No Shamers who *do* provide a correct email
address in their posts should feel free to be as frivolous and
irrelevant as they please. But not abusive and fraudulent.

If you feel that someone has falsely posted to this board
using your identity. (Or if YOU have posted and would like to
have your message removed for whatever reason) Simply
write to NOSHTH@AOL.COM *from your correct email
account*, stating that the message in question should be
deleted, and it will be removed at the first possible
opportunity.

My apologies for any inconvenience these recent changes
have caused you, and I hope to have the new boards up as
soon as possible.

that sure is good news to me!

Time: Wed, 13-Mar-2002 22:26:54 GMT IP: 134.161.67.50

Folks,
I have recently purchased a copy of Michael Moore's newsest
book "Stupid White Men". Every liberal thinking person needs to
own this book. NOt only are his facts and thoughts shocking,
they are stated in an absolutely hilarious manner. For example,
did you know that W's wife Laura (in high school) killed one of
her friends in a car accident that may or may not have been
alcohol related. This fact is pretty much an irrelevant example
of most of the book's content, but the research that he's done
is pretty incredible. So, go and support this man, and his free
thinking mind. Also, if anyone wants to go to Minneapolis
friday night with me to meet him/hear him talk/get the book
signed etc. let me know.

Anyway, would anyone be interested in dishing out assignments for

give someone else a topic and they have to write a skit about it.
Just like improv, except instead of having 3 minutes to prepare,

If that sounds cool, let the assignments begin!

Subj: BoardRoom: IC No Shame survival tips
From: jlerwin@hotmail.com
Time: Tue, 26-Mar-2002 19:54:31 GMT IP: 216.243.220.117

Just browsing (or "lurking", depending on how generous you're
feeling today) the other No Shame sites, and found you're coming
down to our little festival of sweetness and light. So! Things
you will need to know.

1) A careful statistical analysis of the archives indicates at
least a five-sigma variation from the comedic norm in the
following areas: swearing, poop, sodomy, and cruelty. What does
this mean, really? If we establish Cedar Falls as a baseline and
call that baseline "Bill Cosby", heartwarming and funny without
being all that threatening, then we can chart Iowa City as "Andy
Kaufman", fifty percent cruelly hilarious and fifty percent
pathetically lame. Of course, your judgment of which fifty
percent is which is probably completely different than anyone
else's.

2) We all go out later and eat food and you're naturally
invited, so nap on the trip down.

3) If you want to submit pieces, you have to be there
stupefyingly early. I'm talking in the lounge, scripts in hand,
by 9:15 or 9:30 ON THE OUTSIDE. Down in Iowa City, the people
like the No Shame, yessir.

4) We're performing in Mabie Theater this Friday. What does this
mean? The space is huuuuuuuge. It seats almost 400. You will
need to speak way up. If you have a script that involves many
lighting cues, leave it at home. You will be nearly inaudible in
the light booth unless you fire a starting pistol.

5) Please don't fire a starting pistol.

See you in a few! Love and kisses.
Erwin.

Subj: BoardRoom: NEWS of FUNNINESS; and awaiting Ia City
From: jlenhart50280@msn.com
Time: Sun, 31-Mar-2002 02:24:43 GMT IP: 65.234.173.144

I was glad to hear the news of Goodrich's BURRITO, as I was hope
hope hoping to hear some IOWA CITY RESIDUE.

I had been desparately biding my time, but, alas, some news has
broken through, and I wanted so much to hear of the Iowa City
scene.

That, perhaps, has assisted my inspiration for next week.

Although, sadly, I was not able to witness the Iowa City thing.
I always long for the great adventure. Oh, great sadness! I'll
admit, though reluctantly, that I am sitting here
watching "Arthur" all alone tonight. Hey, it's a tribute. And
sometimes, great sadness is fun, right?

Also, remember, it's SPRING. Oh yeah, I forgot. On an unrelated
subject, old people are funny. In almost every setting.

Whoops, my relatives are coming tomorrow for a brunch. Brunch
is an expensive word. Remember when the word brunch would save
you money---it was a combo deal---but now, it is very expensive.

In high school, as a young Jeff, I sometimes skipped school and
I went through the McDonald's drive-thru(their spelling) for a
sausage McMuffin without Egg and a medium coca-cola for less
than $2.00 and then I drove around thinking about how much I
wished Cindy would like me and listening to the Pet Shop Boys
first album and to Falco.

Well, that is cheaper than an Easter brunch with relatives. So,
the moral is, stay in high school, if you can, or go back, if
you can, or at least pretend you are in high school, which is
what I do.

The Middle,

Jeff Lenhart
