Pile

Todd Ristau, on Pile:

"Toby and Stan also had some sort of Junk Yard band, they used to come to No Shame and do these musical pieces on stuff they pulled out of the dump. Among the instruments there was some rusty piano guts Stan hit with a hammer and jumped on, and I vaguely remember I played my circular saw with them once."

Stan Ruth, on Pile:

"Yeah. Tobe has some pals from high school that were in the Hawkeye marching band and were No Shame junkies wanted to me in a piece (little did they know that they could have just did what the rest of us did and show up with their neurosis) and when Tobe came back from NYC one day we were boozing and found some piano guts in the trash which the cops tried to take from us as we loaded it into Tony's truck and we started Pile with Tony playing the piano guts and Tobe playing his harmonica and me on power tools and trombone and Tobe's pals on trumpets and Bradley with guitar and front man and Fred with his drums. We were well before our time."

Pile appeared at No Shame during the 1986-87 season, (probably Spring '87).
