2002

No Shame Theatre at Performance Space 122 (150 First Avenue, New York, NY) will have its first show Friday, September 13th at 11pm. Barring a meteor strike or some other unforeseen event, it will continue every Friday night at eleven in perpetuity. It will be awesome.

Pieces will be taken starting at 10:30pm the night of the show. Standard No Shame rules apply, with a couple of notable adjustments. Admission will be $5 (welcome to New York) and performers as well as audience members will pay at the door; we need to make rent. (See earlier parenthetical.) The time limit will be more strictly enforced -- pieces between five and five- and-a-half minutes will receive a polite reminder about the rule after the show, and pieces over 5:30 will be cut off by extremely loud death metal, courtesy of the bitchin' PS 122 sound system. Also, performers are respectfully asked not to do stand-up, but this request will not be enforced. But please, oh sweet Jesus, please, don't do stand-up.

So that's it. Anybody who has any questions, please e-mail me at danpbrooks@hotmail.com, or at dan@ps122.org.

If not our best.

We gave away free beer tonight and followed the performances with a special screening of Pulp Fiction (which is still in progress), courtesy of the huge white screen, video projector, and DVD player that are part of the current show in the space. Also, it was free. The absolute best No Shame ever. It was only ten minutes long! So short. So lovely. ---Balls
