(ARTIST and MUSE are waiting for a bus. Actually, the MUSE is waiting for a bus. ARTIST is staring at the muse. After a beat...)

ARTIST

You are my muse.

MUSE

Your what?!

ARTIST

My muse.

MUSE

No, I heard you the first time.

ARTIST

You inspire me.

MUSE

Stay away from me.

ARTIST

You make my spirit soar.

MUSE

I'm serious, don't come any closer.

ARTIST

One word from your sweet lip, One look, One touch.
Uncorks the wellspring of my passion and my passion's art.
Unfurls the tapestry of my heart's ambition.
Erodes away the boundary between myself and all that I aspire to be.

MUSE

Help? Help? ...Help!

(MUSE runs away. Another COMMUTER comes and waits for the bus. After a beat...)

COMMUTER

What's wrong with you?

ARTIST

I have lost my muse.

(COMMUTER nods and waits for the bus. After a beat...)

COMMUTER

Sucks to be you.
