You think for a moment and decide that Muffi would support you in your quest for True Love, so you agree to go with the policeman.

He takes you out behind the mall, where there's an area of shrubbery. You're not sure exactly what he's doing, but he seems pretty experienced, so you follow. After you get there, he clears his throat a little uncomfortably. "So..." he says, "how much do you charge for this sort of thing?"

You look at him, confused. "Charge?"

He shuffles his feet around. "I've never actually done this before, so I'm not really...ah...familiar with how the whole money exchange thing works."

You suddenly understand. "Oooooh," you say. "That's sooooo nice of you. You don't have to pay to go out with me, but if you want to go to the Big Dance, I don't have the money for a dress."

He begins to look a little more comfortable. "Yeah," he says, "good idea. Use code words. I could get into real trouble for this. Ok, so if we go to the 'Big Dance,' you'll need the money for a 'new dress.'"

You nod. "Right. I don't need a really expensive one. I guess about a hundred dollars should do it."

"Do you want it before or after the 'Big Dance'?" he asks.

You look at him incredulously. "Before, duh. What good would it do me afterward?"

He fishes around in his wallet and gets out a fifty and a few twenties. You're very impressed. You should have started dating older men years ago. He hands you the money. You jump out of the bushes and head back to the mall, ready to go shopping.

"Hey, wait!" he yells. "What about the 'Big Dance'?"

"Oh, it's this Friday night. Pick me up at seven!" You shout your parents' address. You're back at the mall too fast to hear him yelling after you.

You buy a gorgeous dress and fix your hair and face just like they did at your makeover, but when your True Love doesn't show up Friday night, you're devastated. You call Muffi, who has recovered from the blood clot incident. She offers to set you up with her cousin, who happens to be visiting from Albuquerque.
